Kodiak, a Collie Sheppard Mix, was the inspiration for the original Pets Choice. After he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Disease, his owners, Maddie & Ron, realized nutrition was the key to his well being, and even his survival. After much research and discussion, they realized that most dog foods were full of fillers, artificial flavors, and colors with sub-standard ingredients. Their goal soon became to educate other owners and share the benefits of a healthy diet for their pets. Pets Choice opened in 1991 without much fanfare and in the middle of a recession, but over time it became known as a leading source for pet nutrition and wellness.
In 2008, Maddie & Ron retired after helping thousands of animals and their owners. Joe & Teresa became the new owners of Pets Choice and set out to continue the standards first put forward by the previous owners.

Meet Gunny, Merrimack’s K9 Officer
Officer Walters is Gunny’s handler and together they’ve gone through extensive training and certification and continue to train every month to sharpen their skills and continually improve. Gunny specializes in tracking and evidence recovery and his services have been used not only by Merrimack but the state and surrounding towns.
Pets Choice is proud to provide Gunny with all his food at no charge to the town.
